The Brothers Dubé are devoted to helping kids in need while inspiring other kids to do the same. Our story is featured prominently in the media, beginning in 2008 when we lost our mother to breast cancer and started a band to raise money for charity. Last year, we raised over $100,000 playing hundreds of shows to thousands of people. Unlike other fundraisers who use up to a third of their donations to cover their costs, we covered our own costs (with no tax benefits either), directing 100% of the donations to charity. If we worked through a third-party fundraiser, the fee for this could have been as high as $35,000!!! As Canada’s youngest rock band, (at 10, 12, and 14) covering costs is a challenge. Unlike “regular bands” we’re too young to qualify for grants and, even though it’s legal, we can’t easily play bars (even though it’s legal), so this year, we’re offering sponsors the opportunity to become a part of our story by supporting our 2011 funding drive.
Much like sports (minor hockey) does, social activism helps kids develop integrity, fostering a sense of responsibility as contributors to our communities. Sponsorship provides kids the opportunity to continue to make a difference in their communities, while inspiring others to do the same with the message that “kids can make a difference with our support.” While sponsorship packages vary, all sponsors are co-branded online, within our social network, and within our community (at performances) as supporters of our funding drive, which is tracked show-after-show on our Web site. Sponsors also receive a Plaque of Gratitude signed by Canada’s youngest rock band and signed copies of our debut album “ONE”.
Below is a description of our sponsorship packages. As long as our school grades are good, we’re allowed time off to meet with you. If you know anyone who might be interested in sponsoring us, let us know. We hope we can count on your support for this year’s fundraising. We also have operating sponsors, who can help offset our operating costs. These can range from things like Storm Internet, for example, hosting our website, or Natalie Lauzon who furnished us with a whole set of Press Clip quality photos for our band bio, and others. Transportation costs, equipment maintenance, etc.
Sponsorship Packages
All sponsorship packages promote your brand as a supporter of kids helping kids within the local and international community. Our online traffic generates about 5000 hits per month consisting primarily of 14 to 17 and 35 to 55 year-olds of both genders. This traffic increases as the media shares our story. In addition to our Web site, we have multiple social media sites (Facebook, MySpace, Twitter, YouTube, Jango, etc) by which we keep fans and sponsors aware of our progress. These sites are concurrently updated to welcome sponsors on-board in a press release format. We also play hundreds of shows to thousands of people ranging in all ages with an average performance typically reaching 500 people. Each performance leaves audiences inspired by our music and by our story, reflected in the eyes of smiling listeners. All sponsors also receive signed copies of our Brothers Dubé debut album, “One”, and a signed wall plaque of gratitude.
